AROUND THE WORLD

it was a year

fatter than a boa's gut,

all songs and Sanskrit and Singapore,

carousing and cruising

and snapping at bugs

that feasted on her face

and spraying her wrists

with exotic perfumes,

sucking pleasure from solitude

and what meaning means

and how did that line go

and where the fuck did she put

any of it or all of it or none of it

and who's to say

and what did it have to do

with them anyhow
